The Quodlibet publishing house was founded in Macerata in 1993 by a group of students of Giorgio Agamben. Initially specialized in fiction and philosophy, under the leadership of the two Directors Gino Giometti and Stefano Verdicchio Quodlibet was interested in literature, prose works of art, architecture, giving ample space to the publication of classics like Matteo Ricci or Spinosa.
Among the authors of the publishing house there are Gilles Deleuze, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Sergio Bettini, Robert Walser, Emmanuel Levinas, Henri Michaux, Alois Riegle, Giorgio Agamben, Yona Friedman, Peter Eisenman, Gilles Clément, Rem Koolhaas.
The Latin “whatever” we have chosen as mark of the publishing house does not mean either indifference or neutrality. It clarifies the policy of our choices. The texts that we seek must be proactive about current, throwing light on a surprise (from a Gino Giometti interview with La Stampa). Quodlibet has a catalog of over 400 titles and three main series: "Quodlibet" "Quaderni Quodlibet" and "In ottavo."
From 2007 "Verbarium", directed by Michael Ranchetti, is on the series; it was, until his recent disappearance, a landmark of the publishing house . In 2008 came "Company extra", a series of narrative directed by Ermanno Cavazzoni which focuses on Ariosto taste narrative, with authors as GianniCelati , Ugo Cornia and Paolo Nori.
In section Catalog "Quodlibet study” are published several collections issues that research italian and not italian unheard publish. In architecture the series "City and Landscape" has just been launched, this series collect several studies - “from spoon to the city”. At the same time the AAP new brand (Architecture Ascoli Piceno) has been launched, it will publish all main research produced by the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Camerino.
Finally, the Quodlibet addition to the magazines "Discipline philosophical" Bologna and "Journal of Constitutional History" of Macerata, will publish "Vedute" the new Ar_cos Department magazine of the Faculty of Architecture of the Sapienza.
